INKcited Testimonials
"My son, Joshua, struggles with dyslexia, and anything related to reading or writing is painfully difficult for him. I am absolutely astounded what Ms. Linsey and Ms. Nicole brought out in his writing during this week long camp. The techniques these two have developed to get kids to write should set the bar for all reading and writing teachers. The story that Joshua wrote (typed), I know came from deep within him. Had I not seen the story develop over the course of the week, I would not have believed that it was he that had actually written it. I will keep it close at hand as a reminder of what he can accomplish. Because of these dedicated teachers, Joshua is now armed with the confidence to move forward in his final year of middle school. He will be prepared to overcome the challenges that have kept him from feeling successful with his writing, especially as it relates to academics. I am so very grateful for these two patient and passionate teachers. I hope to see more camps in the future for these kids as they grow older!"

"I had a blast at camp. At first, I thought it would be boring, but it was actually fun. My favorite things I learned were Wet Ink, Sentence Stubs, and Trigger Words. Everything we did was in groups. I loved the stories we read. I love the saying. 'Read like a writer and write like a reader.' I also liked how we compared the writing process to growing a sunflower seed. I also loved CAFE SQUIDD, and it's so cool that each letter means something. When I came to camp, I hated writing, but after each day, I learned new things that started my love for writing. I hope I can come to another camp again!"

2013 June Camp, 7th Grade STAAR Writing Workshop & July 2014 Creative Writing Camp
"I have two boys, one a writer and one that used to hate it. Nicole and Linsey are such gifted teachers. They were able to take my 'writer' child and hone and fine tune his skills which has helped him the rest of the school year. They were also able to inspire my other boy to such a level that he no longer hates writing and can write a page on a topic without complaint! Both achieved these skill jumps after spending just a few hours with the ladies, and I am so appreciative of their efforts and the outcomes. If you are considering sending your child to Writer's Ink camps or sessions, stop reading this and sign up! I only wished I had signed the kids up sooner; matter of fact, I will be sending my guys back again."

"Writer's Ink was the best! We learned many, many, MANY strategies for improving our writing in future years. I learned to use and interpret many quotes, use imagery, and much more in expository and narrative writing. We also had an artifact bag that contained all of the past memories we learned from Ms. Linsey and Ms. Nicole. My self-esteem and courage in writing is way up there because I learned to just be free while writing and to let out all the thoughts from my mind onto paper."

2013 July Camp
"Camp was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The amount of knowledge I gained there was colossal. The stories were positively stupendous and the tips on organization truly helped me think through my writing. Using the imagery and figurative language I was taught at camp I was able to visually project my story on a wall. The brain breaks were top notch and kept my pen on fire. I was able to truly use the phrase 'write like a reader and read like a writer' because of all of the great examples and quotes Ms. Linsey and Ms. Nicole inspired us with. I can only aspire to be as great writers as them."

July 2014 Creative Writing Camp
"This camp is AWESOME!! We had so much fun while learning about writing. One of my favorite parts of camp was that we got to read hilarious stories every day, yet Ms. Nicole and Ms. Linsey still taught us a lesson about qualities of good writing. My other favorite part of the day was that we had twenty to thirty minutes of writing time in the morning and in the afternoon. I came in thinking that it was going to be boring, but it is the exact opposite! Overall, this camp is amazing!"
